how do i use community skin? i can't change different skins

So i downloaded and installed all the community skin files (a 5mb download and a 25 mb download). It installs correctly. However, i can't select/browse a different skin at one time...i have to select individual parts of each skin. anyone know what i'm doing wrong? i.e. there's no mce2 skin like in the basic skin.

secondly, why does the tv guide show the show descriptions only about 3/4's of the width of the screen? you know...the part below the table of channels... like 1/4 of the screen on the bottom right corner is left blank. why is that?

Press yellow on your remote (or ctrl-y on your keyboard) for the themes list. The theme can be further tweaked using the individual bits as required.

I believe this is left for the inset window (GB-PVR feature that allows you to see the current TV show / video when viewing the menus).

thanks for the tip. why doesn't skin allow u to click on the buttons? having to press ctrl+y doesn't seem too intuitive.

so i'm now on hi-vis mce2 skin. how can i increased size of fonts? i'm not sure which xml file to modify, or do i just modify the standard ones in the community folder?

The colored buttons being selectable is not a normal function in any plugin you may see them displayed, it is more of a hint. In any rate it is on McBainUK's todo list to make them clickable areas.

To increase font sizes even further, most of the screens have the fonts driven by the baseskin.xml file located in the skin's root directory. I tried to control all the text from one file so making global changes can be made easier. If you need any help, feel free to ask. I can help you out with customizing the plugin xml's to suit your needs.

Once all done, I can include your customized variation in the skin as well. That way others can share in your larger font version.

ok...so i played around w/ changing the grid in skin browser and know this it what happens. what in the world did i do?:

You chose a different Main Menu layout apparently. You can choose the MCE2 Main Menu layout or re-select the theme again and everything will go back to how it was. (That main menu style is for the MonoChrome theme.)

here's the supersized hi-vis mce2 skin.

-the search guide's fonts are still small. i don't like how it looks so empty compared to the regular blue skin which has some darker boxes.
-On main menu, would like to increased the font size of the date/time/next recording.
-don't like the up and down arrow appearance after i put centered=false.
-in music libary, i'd like to make the background transparent bluish box a bit taller on the song list (doesn't completely show the "p" or the "g"
