Hi,

I am a newbie to this and can someone please explain to me in simple english how to setup the channels in gb-pvr, I currently have an NTL box sending a single signal to gb-pvr into a pvr350. I also have a usb-uirt conected and working with a pvr350 controller.

In "Capture Sources -> Channels" do I have to set up more then one channel and what should I put for the "Source Channel"

I have also added the "USB-UIRT Plugin" and selected the standard "PACE NTL Box.dat" device profile to use.

Thanks for your help

You should setup a real EPG, so each of your channels available via the NTL cable is listed. Most people in the UK use the XMLTV grabber from http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/

The channel number next to these should be the channel number used by the cable box for that channel. This is used by the USB-UIRT when asking the cable box to change channels.

Hi Joolz,

I have a pace NTL with USB-UIRT and a pvr 250 so we have a similar setup. I had a bit of mare trying to understand how this works so if you get stuck let me know. It was probably just as I was a newbie Smile

You should get the EPG setup first to get your channels up and running. You then need to map these on to you actual channel numbers so that when you select it, it tells USB-UIRT to fire off the correct NTL/Virgin number.

I didn't understand this at first so when I selected channel 140 on GB-PVR, my config didn't know this was NTL channel 140 and would switch to something else.

Anyway give me a shout if you need to as it is all working 100% and has been for a couple of years.

Good luck Smile
