OK running out of ideas now. i have tried moving the card to another pci slot with no result - downgraded gb-pvr to v 0.99.5 with exactly the same result. rebooted rescaned and tried using the alternative audio option channels - nthing works

The only thing that has not been cleared up is the card type GB-PVR detects, as I mentioned earlier it picks up the Pinnacle DVB-T PCI DUAL card, mine is the single tuner version.

Any thoughts?

They probably used the same drivers for these two cards. The dual tuner model effectively appears as two of the single tuner models. This is fine, and wont be related to your problem.

I should have tried this earlier :o As a last resort I changed Video decoder from the GPL MPEG-1/2 Decoder to cyberlink decoder, and hey presto no more antenna problems!

Problem is the Cyberlink decoder is no good, I am now back to a problem I had before I installed the GPL decoder where I have to restart GB-PVR when I want to change what I am watching! (No problem with live tv can skip between channels fine)

So now what? Any ideas for an alternative decoder?

sub Wrote:Its quite different from analog devices where the signal might get weaker or stronger but always keep going. With these digital devices, GB-PVR tells it to change to a specific frequency and it either manages to lock onto a signal immediately or it fails. If it fails to lock, then no data comes from the device. When you leave live tv to the main menu, then go back in again, it tells the device to try locking that signal again.

To me it sounds like somethink funky happening in the device that cause it to sometimes fail to lock onto the signal.

sub you raise an interesting point for me and my "channel 2" problem.

Is there a seperation between gbpvr "showing" a channel and "recording" a channel ? I realize that gbpvr doesn't actually do these things and that it tells other components to do them but again my channel 2 records just fine, it's the livetv that is jerky and bad.
