Video Archive please wait and wait..

I still get the "please wait" message when I try to enter videos. My config does not have c:\ for the recordings dir. Any ideas what else can be wrong?

Another piece of info.
In the upper left corner it says please wait but on the bottom of the screen I have four colored circles as shown below

I didn't see any pictures on the wiki that looked like this. Does this help at all?

It may be that it is scanning your drive for files if this is the first time it has run. I would try to post a version with more debugging in it for you to try, but I have broken the test version while trying to remove some places where I was doing direct access to the GBPVR database and it may be a while before I have a working copy that I can post again.

I'll keep my eye open for a new version. Right now the only thing that works is the screen saver but it's pretty cool in itself.
I going to try to create a blank mdb database and see if that works with the old version.

The older version does come up in GB-PVR but it complains in the config app about the missing database and none of my plugins show up. I don't have access loaded so I don't have an easy way to create a blank database. If someone else out there could create a blank database and upload that would help.
EDIT: I copied the mydatabase.mdb to video archive.mdb and it comes up now. Cool.

It comes up because it checks for a file with that name at startup, but it won't work. The database structure if different. if you did a clean install of the old version it should have installed a blank, empty database into the jeff subdirectory? Note that you ill also need to manually delete the cmmongbpvrutilties.dll file before installing the old verison since it comes with (and requires) an older version of this library and it won't be installed if the newer one is already present. How did you get the old version on you machine?

When I say the old version, I mean the mdb version that is currently on the wiki as opposed to the beta, sqlite version. I had not run VA before trying the beta version which doesn't seem to work on my setup. I uninstalled this and went with the released mdb version but it did not load a blank mdb database and the config app would complain. Copying a bogus mdb database appeased the gods and let the config app come up ok and the app worked fine in GB-PVR.

I just looked in the jeff sub and I do have a video archive.mdb now. Does the config app create it? I created one in the GB-PVR subdir and that is still there as well. Weird.

I have version 3.0.2657.39148 of commongbpvrutilities. Is that ok?

The one in the jeff subdirectory was created by the installer. You should use it as your starting directory and copy it to the main gbpvr directory.

I swear it wasn't there before I ran config, but old eyes and late nights might be a contributing factor. It does have a 2006 date, so I'm sure I missed it.
I moved it to the GB-PVR dir and it's all working well. Thanks.
