Most of my shows are all getting properly recorded, but they do not show up in the "ready" section of the "recordings" button. There is no clear pattern as to when things work properly and when they do not (about 10-20% of the time, a show does show up as it should after recording, but appears to be random--not even show specific). I have tried re-programming my reoccuring programs, but it does not seem to help. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I've attached my log files and postprocessing.bat file. I am running v 99.12, I have also installed xrecord (4/4/07), comskip (4/6/07), comskippad (8/22/05), addepisode (4/10/07), searchwiz (4/12/07), slim GB-PVR (3/6/07), and probably one or two other utilities/plugins I am not remembering.

Thanks!

I'm guessing its due to this database upgrade that failed due to a database lock. Its not clear what exactly has that lock though.

Try setting <LogSQL>true</LogSQL> in config.xml, then zip and attach the logs next time it happens and hopefully I should have some more info to go on.

Since setting the logSQL = true option, three shows have recorded and failed to show up in the "ready" recordings window (none were successfull at recording and showing up during this time). Let me know if you see anything more conclusive. Thanks for your help!

Whist you wait for Sub to wake up....

What shows failed and when? the logs span quite a few hours.

If the recordings are disappearing, rather than appearing as "failed" AND the recordings do exist (on disk) and are complete, I suspect that addepisode has renamed the file but then failed to successfully update the file name in the recordings database.

try commenting addepisode (to start with) out of your postprocessing.bat and try a few test recordings.

I had reported a shlightly different behavior with only one show that frequently is marked as failed but exist in full length at disk. That happens only with one season, although I have set up a lot of season recordings.

You didnt get any locked errors in those logs, so I suspect that wasnt the cause. As far as I can tell it seems to be recording and correctly setting the status.

Do you have a PostProcessing.bat? If so, whats in it?

Are you renaming or transcoding your recordings?

I've attached my post-processing bat. I'm going to comment out the addepisode program and see if that helps, if not, I'll try the comskip/comskippad programs.

I had used mpeg import to import everything in my recordings directory on Sunday. Everything was showing up as it should when I went to bed last night. I now noticed most of those programs have dissapeared again. So whatever is causing this must effect more than the show that just finished recording.

I'll post again in a day or so once I have had a chance to play with dissabling the addepisode and comskip programs.

I'm pretty sure its one of those things listed in PostProcessing.bat. There is a few things in there with the potential to change the name of the video file. If this is done but the database is not updated to reflect this, then you'll see exactly the behaviour you've described.

this is because gbpvr cannot find the recordings and so deleted them from the database. You can disable this behaviour in the config.xml (can;t remember what the variable is) but the real issue is why gbpvr can;t find the recordings. Are they on a network or removable drive?
