I'm still a command line junkie, (I could probably get by with GBRecord) and I'm definitely come from the classic mode, show extensions, open in same window, don't hide system files class, and I turn off the eye candy and anything automatic, but I don't change don't try and convert others for fear of supporting them forever.
Then again I'm also also lost on my wife's XP MCE laptop and her task bar is unbelievable with all the pre-installed software. The thing is it works well for her and she's never wasted any time, tweaking, tuning or repairing. And she could get support with a phone call to Dell.
As for Vista it is growing on me much more than I expected and I think it is an improvement but like anything new it takes getting used too. Certainly the extra security is new but, I think it will be welcomed. I'm a Linux user too and running as root isn't ever considered acceptable, so why should I expect this in Windows?
When I first installed Vista I hated it, now I would recommend it going forward on modern hardware. Okay I'd also recommend Ubuntu too, if it ran GBPVR.
