HD Homerum and GB-PVR

Just click on "save". It saves the file "hdhomerun_bda.remap" in the C:\ directory. It also saves a copy in "QamMapper" located in your Documents folder.

I think you are then ready to go with GP-PVR again. As for the EPG source, I am using Zap2it. You will need to create an account, but it is free. I have not been able to get DVB EPG Broadcast to work, but it may depend on where you are.

Yup...I've done all of this before...and again today....and still not working.....

Got it to work with Sage TV.....But I like GB-PVR better.

Alright. I got it to scan. Now the Config utility is freezing up on me when I proceede to step 12..........

Once the scan is complete, click the "Tuning Request" column for each channel you wish to map and select the appropriate scan result from the dropdown list. Disable any channels in the EPG that do not have a corresponding "Tuning Request".

Hint: You can click on an entry below the preview window to watch that channel to help you identify it.

Well when I click on an entry below the preview window the config utility freezes up.

Any ideas??

I got it to work. Finally.

Now answer me this.

How come I only et a select # of channels. Basically the basic channels plus a couple others (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, The Weter Channel, TNT, to name a few.....). Why do I not get all the cable channels like VH1, Comedy Central, HBO, etc.

Is there an easy explination for this?

The HDHomeRun can only be used for viewing unencrypted cable channels. I'd guess these premium channels are encrypted.

My success in viewing the scanned channels seems to depend on what Video Renderer I have set in the Playback tab. I prefer Overlay Manager for minimal CPU usage, but VMR7 or VMR9 Custom sometimes work better.

You only get hi-def (digital) channels. VH1, Comedy Central are not hi-def (digital). HBO is definitely encrypted digital. I'm amazed you get The Weather Channel and TNT, thats cool.

I posted this on the HD HomeRun forum and was told I should include my logs and post here, so that is what I'm doing.

When I go to run "Map Digital Channels to EPG channels" I get a message "GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configure properly, and is not already in use", if I click Ok (the only option) I get a JIT error. So in the end I'm stuck.

I have setup 2 HD HomeRun sources:

It would seem that GB-PVR can not communicate with the BDA driver?

Hardware: Windows XP x64 SP2, firewall is off

The Included log file is from trying to tune ATSC so there is no remapping file present.
