I'd like to turn my regular Xbox into a media extender. I know this can be done with Windows Media Center but has anybody ever tried it with GBPVR? I'd like also still use it as a game console. Any thoughts? Thx.

I've a modded xbox and run XBMC on it. I have my GBPVR recordings on a network share, so I just map XBMC over to the share and play them. Playing back mpg2 files works great - mpeg4 files are a little "laggy" during high action (like football games).
I believe a while back someone was talking about making a MVP like device out of the xbox, but I don't think they got really far and gave up.

I believe what he is talking about is people have hacked the Xbox to work with windows MCE and MythTV - I believe he's asking if anyone has done any work to make it work with GBPVR.
I haven't seen anything, but i figured I'd post to clarify the question.

I noticed that you had duplicate threads posted - here and in MVP. I was wondering why the topic sounded familiar . Anyway, here's the thread where they were talking about creating an "XboxMVP"
