MVP Versions Rev H or not to Rev H

I have an older MVP but will probably pick up another.
I have seen a lot of posts about the rev H mvps having trouble with saturation and brightness. Was this ever resolved or should I stay away from the rev H version?

I don't think that any of the problems are rev H specific.

I have two Hs and both are slightly more saturated than I like. ZProcess and MEncoder can adjust the saturation but that is only on an on-the-fly transcode, usually a downloaded divx/xvid HD rip...

I have read that the issue happens in some form on all revs. There is a hardware hack that helps a bit, I hear, but I haven't tried it yet...

I don't know if it helps, but I have the revision H3 MVP and have no problems at all with saturation and brightness, the picture looks great, no real difference between it and live television not through the MVP.

I did a quick search for the hardware hack and didn't see anything. My D3a has saturated colors and menu text looks pretty strange in spots. Hard to describe but white text sometimes has different colors in parts of the text.
I added a video distribution amp and that boosted the brightness by a ton, and the colors are better but not fixed. If you know of where the hack is, I'd like to take a look at it.

The hardware fix looks pretty easy (considering we have a lot of SMT rework equipment at work) . The poster believed the resistors aren't needed but it's likely the 220 ohm values are used to bring the output impedance down on the driver. Taking them off would brighten up the image, but might cause issues with cable reflections. If I get ambitious I'll see if I can figure out what chip drives the output and what the recommended components are.

My biggest complaint on the output is that the colors for text that is one pixel wide has areas that instead of being white are red or blue. Very patriotic for people here in the states.
Does anyone else see this?

I don't see the problem and while not 100% related there is some technical info here that might help you further.

I have a new H3 and it has no color issues. The brightness and saturation look the same as live tv. I noticed a little too much red on certain pictures I displayed, but not on all of them so it was the picture itself.

My d3a version looks ok, except for text that is probably 1 pixel thick. Any other text looks fine. I'll test it on another tv and see if the problem follows the MVP or not.
