I find that the IR receiver for the Hauppage remote is a little short. I would like to extend the cabling. Can I do this and can anyone recommend an off-the-shelf cable to extend the IR receiver?

are you talking about the whole thing (including the blaster)? I think you should be able to get a standard audio miniplug extension cable that will allow you to move the plug. maybe... looks like there are more connectors on the plug than a standard audio cable
