Do you have it set up for live viewing?

I run in on motion detection. Then when it finds a picture it sends it to my gbpvr/ftp server - where another program send me an emails at work to say there a more pictures added.

tipstr, the bags are recycling bins. Our council comes around each week and picks them up, we've just happened to inherit 2

I was on a ship that was parked near HK runway and it frightened the daylights out of me every time I saw them coming in.

The Canary Islands is a nasty one - come over the mountain and lose a lot of height very quickly.

I won't cut & paste as they request permission.

Some awesome pictures on there.

I'm playing about with a mid spec labtec webcam as a proof of concept sort of thing (before I would invest in better kit). Your setup sounds pretty good (the pics you posted are proof of that), but I am looking to be able to view the live output from the cam as a seperate tv channel via my gbpvr system as well as using motion detection to record stuff when I'm not looking.

Yeah you could do this as well, the camera has sdp protocol on it. I've hooked it into vlc before, but not via gbpvr...probably could use a custom task to do it.

The Camera pictures i found somewhere I can get via an http address as well (looked at putting it into the web cam plugin).

I didn't want to run a pc dependant camera which is why I went for the wireless one..

That sounds cool. I know there have been posts in the WebCam and SecurityCam plugin threads just recently that a user wanted to do something similar. Nice to see you found a solution that suited you.

Bet that clap of thunder was hmmmmm..........LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried security cam that takes an image only it seems (certainly didn't like rtsp://ipaddress/live.sdp And on the image it crashes gbpvr so i stopped using it. Have tried wemcam plugin yet.

I wouldn't mind seeing if I can add a custom task to a video key (1 - go) and run it as PIP - that'd be cool!!!!

Best I could get with webcam was to grab a picture every 'n' seconds and then have webcam refresh every 'n' seconds - problem was that if the refresh and grab events ever got close in time, then one or the other crashes with a file not found/accessible type of error, so I put it on the back burner since I was looking for live pictures anyway. However as a result of this thread, I can see this project creeping up the to-do list... Big Grin
