Blank screen after watching MPEG4 AVI's

GB-PVR 99.12 / Nova T 9003
Playing any AVI file through GB-PVR as soon as I press stop, or menu, or back/exit, the video stops playing but I am left with just a black screen. It does not respond to any remote or keyboard presses, and all you can do is close the software and re-start.
The same AVI files play fine in all other media players.
The GB-PVR logs do not show any errors:

Would appreciate any ideas to fix this.

I am using VMR 9.
I only installed GB-PVR for the first time tonight I must say I think it is brilliant - so much better than the software shipped with my Hauppage card!
I did not really change anything in the settings - left mostly on 'system default'.
I thought the video decoder setting is only for MPEG2 playback? I did not think it had any effect on AVI files...what setting do you think I should try?

Thank you for the reply. It now works!
What I did was to use ffdshow video decoder configuration and set XviD to disabled. I guess this forces the native XviD decoder to be used instead?
Anyway it works perfectly now so I can sit back & use the remote to watch all my AVI's, watch TV, record & pause TV and use the TV guide, play my music, and view pictures.

I had to disable DivX in ffdshow also, as I was getting the same problem with DivX files.

So it does seem there is an issue with gbpvr & ffdshow playing MPEG-4. I do find this puzzling, as ffdshow is usually the panacea for all problems with MPEG-4 playback issues, and is even reccomended in the gbpvr wiki (instead of AC3-Filter). FFdshow is cetainly preferable to downloading a codec-pack!
As ffdshow was working in all Windows media players, I wonder what causes the blank, non-responsive screen in gbpvr?

If anyone is using ffdshow to play mpeg4 files in gbpvr 99.12 and not getting this issue please let me know what version you are using!
