pBS Wrote:for Canadian users TitanTV suggests using a zip code of a nearby US city that may have the same channel availability...so you'd have to live close to a US city...
and then they want you to customize the channels yourself, adding and removing the ones you can't get by callsign....

I tried to go down this route. Basically, what they suggest is to manually customize the lineup based on a nearby city (the "nearby" is not a big problem, as something like 85% of canadian population is within 100km or so from the border...).

The thing is that there is a lot of manual work to find all the channels, and worse than that, many local channels are not found at all.

So I dumped it. It's not going to work for us.

here we go again!
this is the latest version, this should fix the weird characters in the listing and if you guys still have problems with the channel number... program description... if they don't match... we need Sub's help because I have no idea what can be wrong. From my point of view the xmltv file looks good.

please let me know if you find problems in this version.
Thanks,

If any one gets static or channels not matching descriptions, post the logs and I'll take a look.

Can you do an 'update epg' in the config app, then zip and attach the config.exe.log?

Granted, I'm not 100% sure I know what I'm doing but I have channels listed twice. Once with the channel numbers and once by name (MTV, CNN etc). When I click on the guide with listings, I get static only.

Any chance to give a cmd line version so it could be scripted and executed as a scheduled task?

I'm guessing you've just tried switching the listings to the new xmltv source, without removing the old capture sources first? Via zap2it channels came with the channel number as part of the name, now you're getting just the name part of it. GB-PVR sees these as two different channels.

It'd probably be smoothest to remove all you capture sources and readd them, or even start with a clean database.

I'll try that and post back.
If I manually change channels, LiveTV does work. I hadn't tried this previously.
Thanks sub

PCostanza: try doing a 'empty epg' first if not concerned about pending recordings..

Ioan: hmmm, could you please sort them on the channel number with leading zeros?
as it is, i get this kind of order..11,13,2,20,26,39,8 instead of 2,8,11,13,20,26,39..

just convert the numbers to 4 digit with leading zeros for sorting..
please?
other than that my local channels look ok..so far so good..no weird characters in the last version yet..
