you can get the icons i use from
http://www.xbox-skins.net/index.php?dlcategory=11 i used some from "Thumbs Pack for Apps & Emus" and some from "Emulator Icons". also what are the command line arguments used with JNes? i only saw a GUI, and the help didnt say anything about command line switches or anything.

right, I had already downloaded some of those; but don't know where to put them. Do I put them in the skin directory or in the rom folder?

sorry i misread it, i read it as "where do i get" not "where do i put"
it looks for any shortcut/executable/rom name with .png/.jpg/.gif and uses those as the image. so if you;re using a shortcut to quake.lnk it will look for quake.png then quake.jpg then quake.gif. Â for emulators, it looks based on the rom names so tmnt.zip tmnt.png, and for the emulator it self it looks based on the executable, so if you specify D:\games\emulators\mame.exe it will look for D:\games\emulators\mame.png/jpg/gif. Â (the paths images should be stored in the same place as the files, be in a shortcut, rom, or emulator). Â also if you supply a simple one line text file eg mame.txt it will read that as the description and show that in details view.

anywhere we can see the external command being issued? I'm getting an error when trying to launch my nintendo 64 games and it is supposed to work the same way as my nintendo emulator that does work. I am able to launch the game from a command prompt using: D:\Games\Nintendo64\Project64\Project64.exe D:\Games\Nintendo64\Roms\gamename.zip
<Emulator name="Nintendo 64"> Â Â Â Â Â <EXE>D:\Games\Nintendo64\Project64\Project64.exe</EXE> Â Â Â Â Â <ARGS>%ROM%</ARGS> Â Â Â Â Â <RomPath>D:\Games\Nintendo64\Roms\</RomPath> Â Â Â Â Â <RomExtensions>v64|zip|rom</RomExtensions> Â Â Â Â </Emulator> Â Â Â Â <Emulator name="Nintendo"> Â Â Â Â Â <EXE>D:\Games\Nintendo\Jnes 0.5.3\Jnes.exe</EXE> Â Â Â Â Â <ARGS>%ROM%</ARGS> Â Â Â Â Â <RomPath>D:\Games\Nintendo\Roms\</RomPath> Â Â Â Â Â <RomExtensions>nes|zip</RomExtensions> Â Â Â Â </Emulator>

it just uses the filename then the %ROM% is replaced with the filename surround in quotes
eg D:\Games\Nintendo\Jnes 0.5.3\Jnes.exe "D:\Games\Nintendo\Roms\rom.zip" ill download project64 and give it a go.

i tried Project64 and every file i tried to open using
>project64.exe romfile from the command line failed. have to checked to see if you can normally start that rom from the command line?

ive changed a few things in the skin file, so the "launching" screen looks a lot better now.
the default blue looks pretty much the same, except for a blue background (dah), and the "Launching..." text is part of the composite image as <DrawText> Â etc. i just thought it would be nice to see the box art. inspired by avalaunchx. download updated gbpvrme skin download my programs from the link in the first post. |
