First installation problems

Hi everyone,
I needed something better to bring my ever growing music and video library plus photos together in one easy interface...especially as i have 2 kids constantly asking how to do this and where's so and so. GBPVR seemed to be the solution..However all seems to have gone boola!:confused: I configured gbpvr.. ignorant of what i was doing..First problem was, Vm7 was the only option that I could choose that allowed me to continue futher wth the config. having gone through the config pointing gbpvr at the nas storage on tmy network I managed to access all my photos, my video also appeared in the lbrary.. but when i tried to play one gbpvr froze..Tho it appeared to be accessing the nas. I left it a awhile but eventually had to end it using task manager.. since then gbpvr will not start...I can start config but it will not start the pvr interface. I uninstalled it and reinstalled but still nothing...furthmore If I now try to play a movie with Media player 11 I only get the sound..no video? I tried Media player on 2 avi files whcih i had left on my system after transfering to the nas and they played ok. What have i done?

This is probably the first issue to solve - do you get an error message? Zip and attach gbpvr/logs/gbpvr.exe.log - this may help us.

ps I've also moved your post to the support forum - seems to be more appropiate then the GD forum.

Thanks, yes realised I'd probably put it the wrong catagory. I'll send log later this evening as I'm not at home till around 6pm Thanks for the reply.. Really like the look and funtional aspects of GBPVR so would like to try to get it running..Sorry forgot.. no error messages. Initialisg screen just disapears and then nothing.

Hi McBain, found log files and there seems to be 2 different logs...
The version downloaded is GBPVR v0.99.12..
My system is
2.4GHz Intel
1.5Gb memory
XP pro and framenet 2.0 and 3.0
Media Player 11.
GeForce4 MX440 (128k..I think?) plus latest Nvidia drivers
Soundblaster live Audio card
Compro T300 TV card with latest Drivers and interface software

Hope this all enlightens the picture,or lack of it!
