I think I have a generic problem, but I can't seem to identify it. Can you make your program be more specific about the problems it encounters? Perhaps log the errors and the URLS it's attempting to load?

Saddly I am getting a message that says "ERROR: Downloadload Failed" when I click "Download and Parse Listings".

I am using Zip Code 98019 and "Dish - Seattle - Seattle-Tacoma" as my provider.

I had some trouble with my ISP and now that they are back online XMLTV doesn't work (with Zap2it) at all. I haven't been able to get GBPVR to work with a direct shot to Zap2it since forever.

So now I am have no EPG at all, leaving my PVR pretty useless. Sad

I am a fair hand with HTTP and programming, but I don't really want to install a pack sniffer to see what's going wrong.

I had some problems running the utility on subsequent attempts after the first. I deleted all the files created by the utility, including the schedule.zip and re-ran it. It worked for me fine then. It may not for you, but something to try anyway.

Thanks for the tip. It didn't help, but it was something to try. My internet provider is slow and I have a hunch these downloads are timing out. Thanks for making the utility OZ. Anyone else have any ideas? I could always download the source, but I am on vacation and I don't want to look at computer code until I go back to work. Tongue

I re-ran it this morning and had several issues with it, including the "missing schedule" file and another error I hadn't seen before. I waited a while, tried it again, and it finally worked. I think persistence is the key here (I do believe some timeouts might be kicking in and causing failures from time to time).

My guide shows up empty with GBPVR 1.08. What are the characters that will make it break, and what field are these chars in? I read a post by sub that lists & < > ", but doesn't say what field these are invalid in.

<programme start="20070707190000" stop="20070707220000" channel="006">
<title lang="en">PGA Golf</title>
<sub-title lang="en">AT&ampT National, Third Round</sub-title>
<desc lang="en">From Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.</desc>
<date>20070707</date>
<category lang="en">Sports event</category>
<category lang="en">Golf</category>
<category lang="en">Series</category>
</programme>

I replaced & with &amp in the sub-title field. Is this the only field where invalid characters can happen?

Is this supposed to work for OTA (antenna) channel listings as well?
I am unable to download any guides as all of the providers listed are either cable or satellite.

Thanks

I now think my hughesnet satelite internet connection is the author of my misery. I can't use Zap2it and this program isn't working. I hooked up my cell phone as a modem, and it seems like this program is working better.

I tried disabling the turbopage by putting in an invalid server, but I can't seem to get that to help. Sad

Seems like hughesnet doesn't like dealing with the POST from zap2it or whatever the Yahoo API is either.

I just got down downloading my listing via my phone (what a pain!).

Looks like my problems all have to do with Hughesnet. Too bad I can't get anything else in this rural area.
