Am I the only one with these problems ? Or am I using the wrong approach ?

I live in Nijmegen the Netherlands and have Cable-TV from provider UPC.

There must be many GB-PVR fans here in the Netherlands I guess, how are
they getting their EPG data ?

I use Ammontillado's TVGids_to_xml grabber and also the Clean_XML program
thereafter as recommended.

Recentely I get EPG data of only a few channels, much less that I normally
get, many channels are empty.

I run the grabber in a batchfile at night, before the system shuts down.
It used to work fine, with a glitch from time to time but not as bad as it is
now. And I have no idea how to debug this.

any suggestion ? help will be appreciated.

No problems here. I run the grabber between 04:00 and 05:00h with the standard setup

Can you get the channels you need using mm-grabber?

If so I have written a little program which converts .cfe files (which mm grabber generates for use on dreamboxes) into .xml files - which GBPVR uses.

Said program isn't pretty (and will win no awards for coding quality) but it does work.

I can send you a copy if it would help you out.

I've written a small program that grabs the data from http://xmltv.assies.info. This site takes the data from tvgids.nl and places it in 3 xmltv files. My program combines these files to one, and only for the channels you want. I haven't tested it on other PC's, but you're welcome to try it. It only takes a view seconds to run, which is a lot quicker than grabbing the data from tvgids.nl.

See attached zip file. You'll have to configure the config.xml with notepad, I'm sure you'll figure it out. I hope everything works, because I haven't been doing much programming on this lately.

I think TVXB limits the number of channels from which you can retrieve the program description. That's why I stuck to TVgids2xml.
