majorpayne Wrote:Jim I seem to be having issues...
I changed the Bat file to just load it in the gbpvr folder to see if it was a folder issue
When i run updateepg.bat i get 2 files
I-xmltv which has just a . in it and YahooXMLTv which has --- each time i run it just creates a new line of that
I put the xml it was looking for in the same direcotry thinking maybe that is the issue
While beta testing this, everything needs to be in the GBPVR\YahooXMLTv folder. I donât want to chase problems caused by a bunch of different install locations.
Follow the dirrections below and let me know if you have any problems.
Everyone:
These should be complete step-by-step directions
If someone follows them and it doesnât work, let me know the exact point it failed.
First, if youâre using Vista you should turn off the User Account Control feature during the setup stage.
Control Panel> User Accounts and Family Safety> User Accounts> Turn User Account Control on or off
Turn it back on after the setup is complete.
Start:
Create a folder called YahooXMLTv in your âC:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvrâ folder.
Then.
Copy wurlstonâs utility (from wherever you have it installed now,) and the xml file it downloaded (your listings) into the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\YahooXMLTv folder.
Then.
Extract I-xmltv.zip into the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\YahooXMLTv folder.
You now have the I-xmltv utility & startup files, the YahooXMLTv utility files, and your lineup.xml all in the same folder. C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\YahooXMLTv
Next drag and drop your lineup (the xml file with your providers name) onto âStart I-xmltv.batâ.
The drag & drop process will create a file called UpdateEPG.bat and delete Start I-xmltv.bat and the temp files.
Click on UpdateEPG.bat (the one that was just created) and it will download and enhance the listings.
The enhanced output file (the one you configure gbpvr to use for the xmltv source) is called YahooXMLTv.xml
Move UpdateEPG.bat from the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\YahooXMLTv folder, into your GBPVR folder.
Run gbpvrâs configuration utility and tell your recording device to use âC:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\YahooXMLTv \YahooXMLTv.xmlâ for the xmltv epg source. Browse to the file, just to make sure its actually there.
Empty the epg in the gbpvr config app.
Update the epg in the gbpvr config app.
You should now see the enhanced listings in the GBPVR guide.
Note: During the testing stage, using a different folder isnât an option, becaues it will only cause questions not related to testing the I-xmltv utility.
