Hi,

I know i've asked this before, but i thought i'd try again a few years on.

Is it possible to use a database tool to backup the "season record" records and restore them on to another machine.

I need to rebuild my PVR server and would like to avoid manually adding all the season records in again.

Thanks.

I suspect you're after a more elegant answer than this ....

but if you don't mind copying everything over (completed and pending recordings), why not just install gbpvr and then copy over your gbpvr.db3 and config.xml files.

I was also planning to go back to a slightly older version of GBPVR as i've been getting a lot of problems with what i have now.

Looks like i'm going to have to re-enter them all, which is no big deal, but i would have preferred to avoid it.

Thanks anyway.

i made one a while back, it was just a couple batch files...Smile[save/restore]
it should be here on the forums somewhere...i haven't put it to the final test as i haven't had to transfer mine totally yet, [upgrades always work for me] but it should work on a new system rebuild just fine...[no conflicts already in database]

might save ya a lot of typing time..Smile

What version are you running atm? Can't ypu use the "export recordings" button, make sure you copy the file in a safe place (can't remember what the file is called, something recording dump!) Install the version of GBPVR you want then use the import button.

Suppose this wont work if you are going from a db3 to an mdb version.

that would only work for existing recordings..not save your pending 'season recordings' when upgrading..[tho you need to export the recordings also]

ahh, found it...still beta but at very least it will build the list for you..Smile
[just hasn't been tested much, so double check things]
also includes a restore batch.
oops, wrong page...Big Grin looking now..
here tis: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...stcount=29
i'll do some testing as i haven't really used it for several releases...

i had to add some new fields for gbpvr 1.x but seems to be working fine now..Big Grin

one note tho, it seems to choke on shows with a ' in the title...Sad but everything else works great..Smile
