Hallo,

Anything went smooth in 1.08 until i started a channel scan.
I have two tuners and edited then in the bda.ini. I checked the description against graphedit, it's the same for both cards and it's like the s-1400 already present in the .ini.
When i scan channels i see good reception and 100% quality for both cards, but no channels show up. It is clear that it finds the transponders. The scan is quite fast.

Of course i checked my install against dvbviewer, which does find channels.

Although this is a fresh install (XP-SP2, vcruntime, direct-x updates, .net 2.0, bda fixes from microsoft, cyberlink from technotrend), my system fails on the mux check.

Any help is greatly appriciated.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I tried some more today and i got the s-3200 going. That is, it shows channels. However, most of the time the channelscan crashes after 20 minutes or so. The other card , s-1400, does not come up with channels. Could it be that timing may be an issue? I cant control timings but it might be that settings in gvpvr are not conservative enough for the older s-1400.
I have include the config logs for both cards. The s2-3200 log ebds abruptly where it crashes. I posted a few of these crashes with M$.

The s-3200 is most likely crashing because it doesnt like something in the stream. If you check, you'll probably its always scanning the same frequency at that time. Options for fixing this include removing that frequency from the tuning file, effectively skipping that transponder and the channels it carries, or recording a 200MB or so full transport stream file (with some other utility) and making that file available to me so I can see what it doesnt like in the data.

I'm not sure why the s-1400 isnt finding anything though. Maybe it's tuner isnt as good, and is unable to lock the signal coming through your splitter, or maybe its just some bug in the drivers which stops it working correct when in a machine with the other card.

Hi Sub,

I was on holidays, so therefor off-line for some weeks.

I must discard your suggestions because as i already stated, in the same setting i have no problems with the dvbviewer application whatsoever.

Questions (more or less related):

1.
Gbpvr identifies bda devices. Would it be possible to display the names of these devices when installing them? Right now you have to guess which device Gbpvr identifies as the first or second device.

2.
Hoe can i help to further analyse the problems with these devices?

3.
I suppose Gbpvr uses timeouts for PAT, PMT etc. internally. Would it be possible to give the user control over these timeouts? I have seen this type of control with other applications (mediaportal) so my guess is that in certain cases it is nescessary to alter these settings to get a card to work.

Can you post my the bda.ini for the settings from the S2-3200?

Problem solved!

Right now i have 1.016 installed with two technotrend cards and it's working fine. (used nova-s entrie for both of them).
I installed the skystar HD technisat driver for the TT-3200 and this driver seems somewhat more stable then the 'ordinary' TT-budget driver.
Skystar HD is identical to TT-3200.
Also, this time i made sure 'dvbfix' was registered correctly.

So the whole technotrend budget class of devices can be marked 'supported'.

Right now my next step is to configure a client pc and some remote control...

Thanks so far.Big Grin

I'm trying to set up an S2-3200 with 1.2.13 and not having much luck. I have created a bda.ini entry based on the technotrend 1500....

[TechnoTrend Budget S2-3200 DVB-S2]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-S
SUPPORTS_BDA_DISEQC=4
FILTER_TUNER=TechnoTrend BDA/DVB-S Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=TechnoTrend BDA/DVB Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

When I try to scan for channels, config.exe crashes saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close. I have applied the patch listed elsewhere that fixes a similiar problem with my nova-t cards, but it doesn't help this.

I've seen some notes about removing some frequencies from the scan range, but I am not sure how to do that.

For info, Intel P4, XP-sp3, 3 x Hauppauge Nova-T, 1 x Technotrend S2-3200 using technisat driver.

Any suggestions gratefully received.....

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.
