pfarrel, I'll look at your logs and get back to you.

<edit>
I'm not the best at reading the gbpvr logs so if this isnt it you may need to ask sub.
But I believe you have a duplicate channel selected in your lineup?
Run the Yahoo config again and check for dupe channels when you are asked to select the channels in your lineup.

Pretty good read Jim. That's exactly what's happening.

Alright, I'll go back into the YahooGoTV setup and look for duplicate channels. I did see that message in the logs but was confused how the guide could have two separate schedules for the same channel number. Wierd.

i have a small request [i think] Smile
could we have only the *first* first-run show be shown with *?
as it is, some shows run back-to-back or many more than once a day, and all shows that day get the new marker...i get duplicates on several because i didn't want to adjust the 90min leeway for start times...
[back2back shows,hour long, it grabs both because they both have * and are within 90 mins of eachother]

and also it makes scheduling 'show *' 'all times on this channel' grab several dupes a day...making it not work properly..

not sure if the old one did this but new one seems to..
i really love this util...Big Grin [oh and i'm using it .c ver. with MCE grabber]

Hi pBS,
I looked at an xml file from the MCE grabber for the first time last night
1.3c was written for xmltv & zap2it and it wont work properly with the MCE grabber until I make some changes. Some things work, but others do not and its hard to say what kind of problems you‘ll have if you use them together.
Hang tight, I’ll look into making an updated version for the MCE grabber after its final release.

new* episodes & GBPVR padding option.
Sorry, no.
The new marker is added to the title the entire day it is new (until 3AM in my epg) because I want to give gbpvr or CDK Scheduler as many opportunities as possible to record a new show, incase the first-airing has a conflict.

Has “show *” on any channel / anytime been added to gbpvr v1.xxx or are you scheduling with CDK Scheduler and v99.xx? I’ve never had a problem with CDK Scheduler recording only the first available new* listing that isn’t a conflict, even if there are several airings of the same show that day.

so far it's working perfectly..Smile
as a workaround, i'll just schedule for daily slot, to get only new stuff as long as it's not back2back...[not very many new ones are actually back2back]
on second thought, i can probably just use the [don't record duplicates] option in config...it keys on episode id so it should work fine..Smile

looking forward to any new stuff you add, but i'm good already..Big Grin

Jim, th zap2it data that I am looking at varies slightly from the xmltv specs. are you expecting <host> or <presenter>?

I just tried it the one time and first problem I noticed (with the I-xmltv v1.3c output when used with the MCE grabber) had to do with reading and inserting genre. It wasn’t adding the “new” genre to new shows or the user defined “custom genre” to movie genre/date matches. But it was adding the custom genre text to movie descriptions, even when they were not a proper match! I didn’t look for any other problems after seeing those.
I have some work to do to make I-xmltv compatible with the MCE grabber, not you, your grabber output looks great. Its just that I-xmltv was written specifically for xmltv.
I’m guessing it will be a very simple change in my code (something that needs to be done for future grabber compatibility anyway), but after not looking at it for about a year now I have no idea what or where the problems are. Until I do a step-by-step debug reading & outputting every line of each type of listing in an MCE.xml to see what its overlooking, I can only guess.

The good news is that I-xmltv for YahooXMLtv appears to be working fine, I even have an updated version ready to post for your pre-release version that adds the star-rating and onscreen episode numbers! Smile
I just need to take some time, give MCE a good workout and update I-xmltv for it when I get a chance.

<edit>
PS. lots of features could be working fine with MCE grabber because the data is very close! But if people want to use it as an untested addon, they should edit I-xmltv.ini and remove any actors from the search, & disable the custom genre searches (by removing ClassicSciFi in the example provided) until I track down the problem.

Thank you Jim,

After getting whurlston's YahooXMLTv working I found your 'enhancement' and now have it working cleanly with updates as well. Both bits are a very clever solution to the expiration of Zap2It.

Most of the TY comes via my family - who really likes the added features such as dates, rating, and new program flag. Your unselfish work to produce this fine enhancement is VERY much appreciated.

Sincerely,
TomH and Family
