Recording Service and Live TV

Often times when attempting to watch live tv I get a message saying there are no tuners available. I check and all tuners are idle. I have to restart the recording service to get it to allow me to watch live tv. In this time the service seems to be able to record scheduled events just fine.

FYI - I have 2 500's and 3 150's... I have never used all them at the same time.

Next time it happens can you zip and attach your logs?

Yes, was wondering when to do that... When live tv is rejected? I was wondering if it is a configuration error on my part?

I dont know. You can get something like this if you've terminated a process that was using a tuner, rather than shutting it cleaning, and havnt given it 30 seconds or so to realise, but thats probably not the problem here give you have more available tuners.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this, I have been on vacation.

I was able to reproduce the problem and the logs are attached. The system is recording 2 items with 5 tuners available and it claims that all tuners are utilized.

Hey, I just noticed that the recording service had stopped. I don't remember that happening every time, but I will keep looking into it. It would most certainly explain why it acted like that. I am sure that it had not stopped every time I have had this problem.

Can you post the complete set of logs?

Was it on the MVP or the PC when you tried to view live tv, and do you remember the approximate time?
