I expected the initial price to be $15/month until they had an idea of how many subscribers they had. $15 for three months is very reasonable as an initial price point. As sub pointed out, anyone who is planning on using this service at ANY point in the future should go ahead an subscribe for the first three months. It will give them a better idea of the number of subscribers they are going to have and it will increase the speed of the price drop. You can always cancel the subscription. I will be subscribing whether I use it or not and encourage everyone to do the same.

Really? $5.00 a month is too much? Without good epg data your PVR may as well be a VCR from 1985 (unless you want to take your chances with scrapers).

I have the feeling that if someone was selling an "EPG PCI card" nobody would have a problem plunking down a couple hundred bucks for it.

I plan on joining on the first day. I hope enough people will join the initial group to make sure the service sticks around.

Sub, I'm sure you put a good amount of time into setting this up. Thanks again for all your hard work.

If people support them, then I'm sure it'll end up significantly cheaper than $60.

Now if you waste your money on a Call Girl or HOE, Soccer, Football Side betting, Horse Racing, Dog Racing, Boxing Bets, Lottery Tickets, BEER, Smokes then you all in that group can cough-up some extra money.. If you want EPG this is what you got to do.

I know ...

ELECTRIC!!!!
3-in-1 Cable-Internet-Phone is second highest bill to my Electric
Now do I have room for another bill... I'll have to budget myself or give up something else..
I have only 1 thought on your post......buying beer is NEVER a waste of money! Big GrinSmileBig Grin

I know that I wouldn't mind paying $15 for 3 months in the begining, but I do hope that the price comes down. Does anyone have a link to their site if they have one? I just hope that I don't need to get a subscription for each tuner, I've got 5 in 3 different computers and that could get expensive really quick.

I'll shell the 15$ no problem. Sure, hoping it's going to come down later.
BTW - sub - assuming they are not far from that day, will you supply a version/patch/update that will have the integration with Schedules Direct?
* Rogers Analog Cable [Canada]
* Hauppauge WintTV PVR USB2
* IBM Thinkpad T42 / 1GB Mem / Centrino 1.6Ghz / 60GB HD / ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 + VGA/DVI out
* MCE Remote + Keyboard
* Win XP SP2 / GBPVR [Latest version. always]
* Pioneer HDTV via VGA (1360x768)
* MS Remote Keyboard
* Logitech Harmony 880 [via MS Remote Control Reciever]

I'll provide a new v1.0.13 release or something similar soon. I'm still waiting on info from them on the final production URL.

I said that $60 a year is too much. One of the main reasons I don't have a Tivo is because of the high price of the listings. I never said that I wouldn't subscribe initially rather stating that I thought $60 would be more than I would like to spend on a yearly basis. I ran Mythtv for quite some time using screen scrapers to get my listings before Zap2it came around. It's a pain when things change with the data structure, but it is a free alternative. You get what you pay for I suppose.
