I'm guessing so, but I dont know if there will be any limits on the number of EPG updates per day to limit multiple users sharing accounts.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure they've mentioned people will be able to have multiple lineups.

Tipstir, it's $15 for three months.

I bought BeyondTV a long time ago and still have access to my 'free' tv listings. The problem is getting them from BeyondTV and into GBPvr.

I found this in the Myth lists... they have a little more details... in their wiki...
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Schedules_Direct

They are using that $15/Qtr price with a expected signup of 10% .... so the more of us that commit... the better the price will be in the end...

Thought it might answer a few more questions ppl had... also they are updating it fairly regularly as well..

I don't see any evidence of this. The people that put this together are just like us. They just want to keep their PVR's running. I give them a lot of credit for putting it all together.

I assume they got Tribune to "front" them the first 3 months of data before the first bill is due. I'm sure our $15.00 will be in safe hands.

I really think we should see some more celebrating from the N American folks here. I have been reading user reviews on my cable companies $600 PVR. It's a mess! They eat hard drives and the software sucks.

Schedules Direct is making it possible for me to continue using GBPVR and the hardware I have invested in.

Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3200 STB dedicated to GBPVR

I dont think this is something you need to worry about. These guys are not out to take your money. They are non-profit organisation made up from the lead developers of several projects (like mythtv) that previously used the free zap2it service.

Only about 10% of existing regular zap2it users need to sign up to make this service viable. I'm sure more than this will be willing to pay to keep their HTPC dreams alive.

It certainly seems to me they've gone out their way to be up front with us from the beginning. I don't doubt at all that this project will be successful in what it's intensions are.
It doesn't cost anything to subscribe to the mailing list to get all the latest info.

LOL - hear, hear! Well said!! Smile It's a non-profit and they clearly aren't looking to screw people. If they were think they'd have only offered a 3 month, non-renewing trial? Heck no... they'd take all the money they could from you right up front and if they failed, you'd be out the money.

I'm happy to subscribe, and thankful too.

The more I think about the complaining, the more it irks me. $5/month is too much?!? Heck, that's one Starbucks coffee, maybe two video rentals or two draft beers if you're lucky.

I was expecting it to be significantly more expensive. Sheesh... $5/month is a bargain!

before any prices were announced I thought what I would think a reasonable price would be.
I decided on $2.50/month.
I would pay that with no question.

I dont think I will have a problem doing $15 for the first 3 months, but if the price doesnt go down, I will have to put thought into renewing.

according to http://labs.zap2it.com it looks like they will have listings as accurate as we had before.
