When using the option for Long channel names, I noticed my listings were being cutoff at channel 37 (out of 76). I quickly figured out that channel 38 was A & E and the ampersand (&) isn't being escaped properly in the output file.

Thanks!

Now fixed in version 1.0.8. Thanks for catching that.

Yes, it definitely works to get analog channel listings.

You could be getting the cached file. See this:
http://vbnet.mvps.org/index.html?code/in...tofile.htm

i tried to download the digital sked for my provider manually (i.e. through Firefox) and it worked but it took about 5 minutes for the Yahoo! servers to even respond to the request. Once they did respond the actual downloading of the digital schedule was pretty quick. The zip was about 7mb. I don't think URLDownloadToFile has a timeout though.

I've been looking at your source and messing around with it. Are you working on your To Do items? i don't want to duplicate work.

First, thanks for a nice app to convert Yahoo data to xmltv.

My main question is anyone having luck using this to populate their MythTV boxes? I noticed there are columns empty in my program and channel mysql tables that I think may be vital for use.

I guess as a fresh install I am not sure what to use for an EPG. On a previous install Zap2it was working but it is my understanding that it is going away so I am trying to find out the options. My zip is 52806 and none of the analog ( over the air ) stations were listed.

I'll look at this when I get back. I'll be back in town on Friday.

Was your provider listed?

I've added actors and the like to the xml code and also started using checkboxes to determine which channels to actually load.

That's what I have been working on and will be working on when I get back from my vaction.

I would assume the file would work with mythtv, its just an xmltv file but i'm only testing with gbpvr.

This is great, thanks for the update. the 17th column appears to be the repeat flag, with Y for repeat and N for not repeat.
When it is Y, you can add a
<previously-shown /> tag in the programme node to indicate that the show is a repeat.
If you want, I can paste the code here.

Word of caution: It's always best to do a comparison on the original air date and the current air date. That field and the <previously-shown /> tag have proven to be unreliable to me. I did use them in my output though.

When I try to run this from my bat file by double-clicking it, it tells me that it's an unrecognized command.

If I remove " update" from the bat file, it works - but just opens the program for a manual run as expected.

If I execute it via the DOS Prompt with " update" it works fine as well.

Why won't it work in the bat file when I add "update" to the end of the line? Is it written so that only GB-PVR can execute it from a bat during the UpdateEPG?

My bat file is trivial:

"C:\Program Files\YTVapi\ytvapi_xml.exe update"

Try putting update outside of the quotes. My .bat looks like this and appears to work so far:

"C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\ytvapi_xml\ytvapi_xml.exe" update
