I have used orb and GBPVR together on the same box in the past (~1-2 years ago). Worked very well, but the ORB client pegged the CPU from time to time, so I dumped it.
Somewhere I thought I saw that Orb would play DRM files. If that was the case, I could have Orb serve my DRM files, and get GBPVR to pass the stream to my MVP. But in testing, it seems that the client still needs the license.

I am about to give it another go.
My video server wasn't good enough for Orb. I wasn't about to put it on the GBPVR PC.

I don't have an MVP, but if it works with a UPNP server then it should work with Orb, though IIRC you have to dig in the Orb setup somewhere to find-out how to turn-on UPNP.
UPNP was easy to turn on in Orb - I think it might be on by default even - but I was unable to get it to work with mvpmc. I unfortunately don't know enough about debugging mvpmc nor have the time to devote to it.
But in theory one should be able to get it working.
