Great app, I am a bit worried about go for tv going away - the other Yahoo TV seems to have more providers and more support and it would seem if they intended to keep go for tv they would have the same # of providers - http://tv.yahoo.com/listings... I am unsure if it has an API that your app could use or you'd be stuck with a screen scraper.

One request I have is the ability to translate channel numbers. I have a smaller provider that isn't provided but if I grab comcast's listings and translate the channel numbers this app works perfect. All it would need is a csv input with channel to channel cross ref. The app could even throw out channels listings that aren't in the cross ref file keeping the xml file small. ( I can probably do this with perl but built in is better.)

"C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\ytvapi_xml\ytvapi_xml.exe" update

It's always the simple things... THANK YOU! Big Grin

there is a post to a utility earlier in the thread.

http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=86

i used it before the current version of the tool to replace one channel list with another I like better, I changed the descriptions. You need to be using a updatepg.bat to use it. but the utility is poor and It would force me to reboot my server every 2 days.

if you are perl savvy you could do some search and replace. if you open the resulting yapixml.xml file you will notice it's format is very easy.

Might be more than you want to get into, though.

thanks
mark.

Select "Cox Communications - Washington DC (Hagrstwn)" (There are TWO options with the same text, I am choosing the last one)

Get Channels: The correct channels are listed, yay! The last channel is 102 MASN.

But when I get the actual XML data, it doesn't get all the channels. It ends at 94 TCM.

Seems like this is related to the fact that there are 2 lineups with the same name. I think I want the listings for VA45579-R but it's actually getting VA45579.

The app is great otherwise, though. Thanks!!!

Great app! It seems to work well but I was wondering if there is an easy way to get rid of duplicate channels? My cable company loves to stack up stations on the same channel and this causes issues when loading into GBPVR. I can manually remove it for now but would there be a way in the tool to deselect or remove these channels?

Thanks again for providing a solution while some of us decide about Schedules Direct.

What zip/provider. I haven't been able to find one with duplicates so I didn't know how to handle it.

This may be coming. I'm adding the ability to pick what channels you want so it wouldn't be impossible to include this. It's probably a week away as long as I don't get stuck with the picking channels part Smile

Yea, not sure why this problem is occuring. I am definitely working on it though and expect a fix in the next release which should be Tuesday at the latest. But I'm glad you figured out that -R thing because i was using my own -X for digital acknowledgement but now that I know they're using it I'll change the code accordingly.

When it is Y, you can add a
<previously-shown /> tag in the programme node to indicate that the show is a repeat.
If you want, I can paste the code here.

Added to the next release but its being done how Whurlston suggests. That and a lot of extra EPG data are being added. I have it working on my PC but need to finish the channel selecting thing before I can release it. Tuesday at the latest.

There are several different letters that are used in that position. X is digital, as you've found, R is cable-ready. I will have to find the others when I get home.

Yahoo seems to be creating the download at the time of the request. It also seems to time out before it completely builds the file so it only downloads a partial file. This happens even with the Go for TV program. To see if this is indeed what is happening, you can do the following:

When you get a partial download, wait 60 seconds then run the download again. You should have full data then.
