Not really sure what to tell you now cause I checked some shows with missing details and sometimes it shows up even though the episode title is missing.

Anyways, I included some screenshots and the XMLOut log, but not sure that will tell you anything.

What is going on is that the detailed description download was very large, because of the number of channels and times that show is shown. I had put in a limit of 10,000 characters for the detailed description processing and this happened to be 10,900. (the 'Paid Porgramming' lists are very long and would bog down the processing, and provide no useful info.) I've increased this limit now to 50,000 characters in the next rev.

tried running 41 and could get it to work using the GUI, but whenever I tried to run it using the command line, it would have a fatal error and crash asking if I wanted to send the report to MS. This happened both with and without the /c switch you added. I simply ran MSN_XMLTV_scraper_V.41 /d /c

went back to 40 to see whether it was my pc, but it worked fine at with the command line entry.

Ok, so here are the results of my latest encounter with 41:
- seems to work fine when downloading small number of channels (e.g. 5-7)
- program crashes when downloading a large number of channels (e.g. 56 when I tried grabbing some expressvu channels) I have not been able to download anything when a large number of channels are involved.

When it worked for the few channels, it downloaded channel information like this:

<display-name>5 (CBC-TOR) CBC</display-name>

but for what ever reason, when GBPVR tries to read in the XMLTV file, the channel numbers don't end up working anymore. What happens is the channels get increased sequentially from 0 to however many channels you downloaded, in my case 7 channels, so GB though my channels were 0-6, see attachment. So basically, it doesn't find channels properly because they are not linked properly. This was a very good first attempt. I think trying to figure out how GBPVR reads in the channels so that it can take the first set of channel numbers will fix the issue of the channels being assigned the sequential numbers.

I included the XMLOut log, but I don't think it says anything different. THe first set of settings is from running 41, the second set is from running the old 40.

I just installed V.41 and now get a blank space, as though it were for a channel, in the TV Guide on GB-PVR 1.0.16. There are six actual channels, so the extra space make a total of seven, which fills the screen down to the bottom. This is no big deal, just cosmetic really, but it did not happen with V.31.

Would it be possible to post the source for 0.41? It seems that the posted source is for version 0.40. Thanks.

V0.42 now posted, see original thread.

kwong26 Wrote:- program crashes when downloading a large number of channels (e.g. 56 when I tried grabbing some expressvu channels)

There was a hard-to-find bug in the autoit interpereter that caused this. I coded around it now in V.42. (hopefully)

I guess this is because that version of GBPVR couldn't find the channel number in the display name. Whether it should have or not I'll leave for another day, see v.42 for a workaround.

Don't know why this would happen. Everyone, if you're going to comment about how the XML output of this downloader relates to some operation of GBPVR, please frame your question/statement around the XML output file, not GBPVR's GUI output. (for example, is there a blank channel in the XMLOut file, or does GBPVR do this on its own?) You can even post a zipped version of your XMLOut file. This will help troubleshooting a lot. thanks.

The source was in transition, now V.42 is posted. If you make changes or additions to suit your needs, I'd love to hear about them.
