Yeah I noticed that. I'm working on a Sassari theme for the Community Skin right now, using the old Sassari images that I have.

thanks,

I decided to use overlay images and base colors to make it easier for people to change the colors in the skin. basically, because I like red, and alot of people seem to like blue, and reven wanted a dark theme... so instead of making 8 billion different buttons/ backgrounds/ logos, I realized that I could just use the high/lowlights and then some background images, and then let the end user make the images whatever color they want them... I will probably switch to the standard blue/green for the released version, since some people will expect the original colors, and wont want to mess with it Smile

question (please respond!!!)

what size grid would you want for icon view? 4x4, 4x5, or 5x5?
4x4 will have large square(ish) images
4x5 will have widescreen looking images
5x5 will have small square(ish) images

I currently have done a 4x5 grid, I can post an image of that (tonight) if it would help with answers.

it depends on your folder.jpgs. as well as readability. the text on the smaller icons will have to be smaller, I guess i will try to post some images.

I might just do all of them, and allow the user to decide.

I am guessing that you would want to push the panel (image where the list is contained) all the way to the right of the screen? I have currently set it up so there is the buffer on the right (which I like). I can look into making a version where the panel goes all the way to the edge of the screen. (if that is desirable)

yeah that panel on the rights seems pretty pointless for most screens, mediaportal have a few skins with a panel at the bottom which just wastes screen space and i find really annoying.

sigh... guess I am not done playing with the images then :p
personally I really like the look of having the panel on the side, and you have so much screen area on a 16:9 display, I dont mind not using that bit of it.

here is an image of the 4x5 option... probably not going to be final, remember I am trying to do this on a 4:5 display, so the results vary when I change the res to an HDTV one.

yeah but you got that gap on the right side that just takes up space and doesnt show anything, kind of defeats the purpose of a WS tv, since you're display the same amount of stuff as you would on a 4:3

oh and i meant 5 columns and 4 rows Smile (so taller and wider icons)

that'd be 5x4 then :p
I will probably make a panel image that is wider (exactly 1 column wider to be exact) so there wont be many major changes required for people like you :p who want a wider panel.

also, looking at that image, looks like i need to make the buttons a bit thinner.
