Has anyone here had any luck getting the IR Blaster from irblaster.info to work with HIP? Mike from irblaster.info reports that his hardware works with LIRC, but is unfamiliar with HIP and is not sure whether it will work with it or not.

Thank you for your assistance.

hmmm, that one may be IR200L compatible...try using that setup in config and see if it can 'learn' any commands...if so, you're in biddness..Smile
other wise, hip should have a compatible driver, i used a pinnacle driver with HIP for my homemade blaster...
it may take some playing with to get timings right, look for consistency if you get data out of it...

what kind of ir receiver are you using?

I have not purchased the irblaster.info hardware, yet. I was trying to confirm whether it would work with HIP prior to making a purchase. I would prefer to use HIP over WinLIRC, but if it will work with IR200L out of the box that would be suitable, too.

MediaMVP > GB-PVR > HIP/WinLIRC/IR200L > IR Blaster

I'm using a MediaMVP as my IR receiver.

Thank you for your input.

no guarantees...but look on the HIP site for drivers for various blasters..
it seems to be a raw sending type,[no ic chips] that is typical of winlirc devices.. i find some work, some don't...that one looks well done tho..
i made mine[which should be functionally same as that one]
oh and sorry, i misspoke earlier, the pinnacle driver is for ir input, not output.

there is some hip-winlirc communicaton possible, so you can use hip to send out cmds to winlirc to blast...Smile
much more info on their forums..

It appears that the developers of HIP have created a WinLIRC plugin for interfacing LIRC devices.

It is exactly the information I was looking for. All systems are a go!

Thank you for your assistance.
