comcast "black box" STB with the on-demand etc.

WinTV7 is using "code set 85" for the IRBlaster, and is working fine, but I am not sure what GBPVR's config is up to.

I have this working fine for WinTV and the DCT700, channel changing on WinTV uses the set top box and the IR-blaster just fine.

GVPBR is configured to use the IR-blaster in the setup for the 1600, but changing channels (arrow key) just changes the tuner up and down, not sending a IRblaster signal to the STB.

How do I determine where the issue is? This was a clean setup of the 1600, and I deleted the old setup for my 350 out before creating one for the new Hauppauge card.

Other report this working. This is the latest GBPVR release.

Thanks!

Did you create a captures source for the STB and edit the "fixed channel external tuner" and the input source and the fixed channel and all that good stuff in the capture source setup?

This is analog output from the STB to the analog in on the 1600.

If I set up the 1600 as a capture source, the only STB interaction is via the channel changer setting.

Channel lineup comes from my Schedules Direct. no STB options there.

I can set up a sources for the 1600, then pick the MCE IRBlaster as changer.

I can leave it at that, with 3 options re: how many 0's and needing enter or not. That fails to work: Hitting arrow keys changes the whole tuner channel from 3 to 4, seemingly not sending an IRB command.

If I change edit the setting of the IRB to "my device", and pick e.g. "blaster 1", it pops a dialog that says to follow prompts, says to wait, then says learning complete. The end result is that if I use arrow keys, again the 1600 tuner changes channels, no IRB commands seem to be sent.

What setup documentation am I missing? This seems pretty straightforward yet not functional all at once : )

do you have a separate usb MCE dongle? if not a mce kit, then you need to use Haupblast.exe....
set config for .exe changer, select haupblast.exe for executable and check both boxes, pad and 3 digits..

then you should be set...Smile
but also, need to have rec. service set to either a username, or local with 'interact w/desktop' checked...otherwise it won't change for recordings, but livetv will work..

also, use svideo input if possible, much better looking, but if have to use ch3-4, set to 'fixed channel, external tuner' and select the channel the stb outputs on below..

I hope this helps. Here is an example of how I have mine setup and it works perfect. Yours would need to be edited to point at the 1600, the s-video or compsite input you are using with external tuner. And for your schedules direct xml file. Sounds like your channel changer is setup right though, but it does need a epg xml to know what blasts to send. It doesn't get the EPG from the STB as you have found.

I really appreciate the reply. Conflicting spouse-favorite shows this evening, horrors!

Where is this documented?

All that said, I'll take a look just now at your .zip.

Thanks much!

I don't remember where it is documented. I think I found it in an old post to be honest. I hope it helps. Originally I had this setup through my 1600, but I aquired a newer PC with a Sony Gigapocket Card in it, so I simply changed it to that to gain one more analog capture source.

Both versions are available http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/d...r1600.html, so I assumed he knew what he had and didnt go there.

Ok, I reconfigured again, to use the 1600 with haupblast.exe instead of the MCE IRBlaster, set schedules direct with my user/pass for the EPG, pulled down a fresh EPG, saved and restarted everything, and still.. no IR activity, just tuner channel change on arrow keys.

Oh well. I really do not see why this is not working though.

I'll send screen shots in a while/ day or so.

Appreciate the replies!

What is changing channels and with what, the remote or the keyboard, the STB or the 1600?
