Is it possible to run the old 99.12 version using schedules direct?

WAF has dropped through the floor with the new version. Some plug-ins that are not updated yet, screens that are not readable on the MVP's and a more or less unstable MVP in general.

I would not have upgraded yet except that to get guide data from schedules direct i assumed i had no choice. Until i get some of the issues resolved and figure out how to skin the new version for my wife an her need for everything to be larger i need to roll back. I've tried running the MVP's in in GBpvr mode and that gets things to sort of work but not consistently, depending on what plug in is running. Since I use GBpvr exclusively on the MVP's the MVP stability is most important as well as being able to skin it so my wife can read the menu's and plug in screen.

You can retrieve the data from Schedules direct through xmltv. The new version will allow you to use Schedules Direct

OR you can just upgrade to 1.0.16, and just use the GBPVR.exe instead of PVRX2

I think there have been very very few changes in GBPVR.exe since .99.12, so all your old plugins should work fine...

The only difference that I can think of is that the screensaver doesn't work for gbpvr.exe in 1.0.16

This is what I do. WAF is pretty good with it.

I have in fact upgraded to the new 1.0.16 version. It's kind of where my troubles started. I only upgraded to keep receiving the guide data, in retrospect it was a bad choice. The new version looks like it has lots of potential, it's just not yet there. Some of it being he core program, some being video archiver and weather and panels not being quite up to snuff yet the rest is me not yet figuring out how to skin the new version. My wife has a vision problem and I've written several skins just so she could read them on the MVP's. I dropped back to the GBpvr.exe for the MVP and it does work but barely, some screens show some don't depending on how plug ins were re-written for the new version. It's just been a mess so far.

I tried updating, and using just using the old interface for now but it's just marginal. At this point just to get things working again I'd like to roll things back to the very stable 99.12 version if there is a way to get my guide data to it. Someone mentioned xmltv, I've never used any other format than the built in zap2it and now schedules direct. Is there an instruction sheet somewhere that will let me get guide data into the old 99.12?

So if i get this right, i might be able to keep the new version as is, get rid of the updated plugins and reinstall the old versions and i might be fine?

I like gbpvr.exe>the pvrx2... pvrx2 is simply not fast enough for me. And i dont like it all in the center.

I still use the TV-out on my PVR-350, and am still using version .99.12 on that computer. I set up XMLTV 0.5.48 to retrieve my EPG info through Schedules Direct. I helped a co-worker using one of the .97.xx versions (also PVR-350 TV-out) get his EPG up & running. He's using I-XMLTV v1.3c with great results.

This works well. I have used it with any version of GB-PVR I could get my hands on. Instructions available
