Thanks

I have narrowed it down, it's either my card, or the way it's interacting with the mux.

It doesn't seem to be entirely GB-PVR's fault I don't think, no either ones I have tried work all that well either.

I would blame it on the card, but it worked perfectly fine in its previous incarnation.

PS Great to see the forums are back behaving properly now Big Grin

I don't think it's the card or the software.

Since I redid my PC, no software has worked very well. I have reformatted about 3 times, with no more success.

I put my card in a different PC, and it worked straight away.

I suspect now it's a compatibility issue with the motherboard, but how to troubleshoot this i have no idea.

If anyone is aware of any issues with Hauppauge cards and Asustek P5PE-VM motherbards, i'd love to know Smile

have you tried what i said a few post back and increased the priority of the recording service
<ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>true</ForceHighPriorityRecordingService>
i had crap recordings going on. My pc often runs at 100%(comskip)even though comskip is meant to be low priorty maybe the fact that also recording 3 analog stations and one digital didnt help oh while watching and serving a client
but changing that setting made all the difference

try increasing the value of the PCI latency for your dvb card in the bios. or there is a PCI latency tool to enable you to set it for individual pci devices

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=951

more info

http://www.reric.net/linux/pci_latency.html

quote
How this works is that each PCI device that can operate in bus-master mode is required to implement a timer, called the Latency Timer, that limits the time that device can hold the PCI bus. The timer starts when the device gains bus ownership, and counts down at the rate of the PCI clock. When the counter reaches zero, the device is required to release the bus. If no other devices are waiting for bus ownership, it may simply grab the bus again and transfer more data.

If the latency timer is set too low, PCI devices will interrupt their transfers unnecessarily often, hurting performance. If it's set too high, devices that require frequent bus access may overflow their buffers, losing data.
---

I think (but not 100% sure about this) that it helped with breaks in my dvb recordings from the nova t-500 card.
