I was going to get a 500 w/ remote... but I already have a tuner with onboard MPEG-2 encoder, so I don't need to get a dual tuner.

I'm looking at this one:

I have this card:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6815116633

It is the 150MCE in a white box without a remote or cables.

Works perfectly.

Know anything on the difference between the 1045 and 1062? It seems to me the only difference is the remote. 1062 is an MCE remote... is this better?

I'll be running on XP Pro.

Honestly... I bought the 1045 originally, but now I wish I bought the 1062 kit instead.

The remote receiver that comes with the 1045 plugs into the rear of the PVR-150 card. With the 1062 kit, the remote receiver plugs into a USB port, which is nice if your PVR-150 card goes bad like mine did. Because when my 1045 card bit the dust, I lost my remote as well.

This is obviously my opinion, but that is the only main difference between the two.

Good points... I think the MCE remote has a few more buttons... I'll give it a whirl. (MCE version is $89.99 on newegg, whereas the 1045 is $79.99 on tigerdirect.com)

So, I have the 1062, with the IR Blaster and MCE remote. I've got the 150 card working with my AverMedia 150 (boards look suspiciously similar... Wink ).

I was playing last night, but couldn't get the remote to work. The Transceiver is still listed as 'Unknown Hardware' in the hardware details. I downloaded the newest drivers for the card BEFORE I even installed anything. But I can't seem to find drivers that work for the transceiver.

Any ideas?

What operating system do you have? XP Home doesn't have built in support for MCE remotes (I copied the files needed from XP Pro into Home) & there is also an alternative driver as well, just do a search in the forums & you will find it I'm sure Smile
