I just moved across town into a new house but I am using the same cable provider. My channel guide does not show any channels and whenever that happens I open up the configuration go to capture source and click update epg. However this time an error message pops up saying "your epg does not seem to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG source settings and try again. I am using Zap2it and I am currently registered and up to date. When I click on settings for epg source, and fill in my log in information, I still can't update. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. -Colin

The zap2it service shutdown recently, so its not suprising you're not able to pull in your listings. The majority of US/Canada users have shifted over to the new Schedules Direct pay for listings service ($15 for 6 months). See http://www.schedulesdirect.org.

I am having some real problems. I have updated to the newest version of GBPVR, installed the gbpvrBackendcommon patch.I was subscribing to Zap2It, but am now with SchedulesDirect. I have setup my account and log in the proper way (lowercase name). When I try to update my epg it says I am connecting to Zap2it and then I get the following error:
---------------------------

I had a similar problem. I ended up uninstalling it - deleting it (from both my c: and d: drive - have a dual boot xp/server2003 setup) and reinstalling it. It actually took me a couple of tries because I had forgotten it was installed on both hard drives - but it was bad old information that caused the problem. I ended up losing all my timers (because I hadn't read about the export/import trick) but seeing as the new fall season is starting, and that is why i was looking at the schedules anyways - it was no great loss.

Hope that helps

I dont think I've ever seen anyone report a "(502) Bad Gateway" error before, but google seems to indicate its usually caused by DNS problems.

i kept getting a 401 Not Authorized error similar to the one above. the setup wizard is just using the old look and wording that Zap2It needed...email and password.

I'm half asleep trying to get this all to work so i can setup some recordings for this weekend...so i enter in EMAIL and password. failed. WTF??

ahhh. it's not EMAIL to enter it's your new SchedulesDirect username.

it all worked fine after that!

This is documented in the v1.0.16 survival guide.

The "username" is just a new concept Schedules Direct introduced a couple of days ago. Before that, the user's email address was their username. I've changed that label in the config app for the next release to read 'Username:' instead of 'Email:'.

Apply the patch from the 1.0.16 Survival thread (in post #7). You need to close the tray icon and stop the recording service before applying.
