I upgraded to 1.0.16 and decided to try the QAM tuning with my HVR-1600 again. Unfortunately, GBPVR isn't finding any channels when scanning for QAM stations?

I haven't had the time to look into it further, but I'm curious if there are any "gotchas" to be aware of with the new 1.0.16? I seem to recall a patch was needed in the previous version I was using. Is this still needed?

I'm on a different computer at the moment, so I can't upload or check my log files right now.

Nothing springs to mind but upload your logs when you get a chance and I'll take a look.

I got the chance to work with GBPVR more last night, and it appears the scan problem was due to bad drivers. I reinstalled the drivers, and GBPVR scanned and found numerous QAM channels. Then I mapped the stations it found to the stations I wanted (easy since the station info was included in the scan). So far so good...

Unfortunately, I scheduled a QAM recording last night and it recorded a different show on an analog station?

I checked my logs and didn't see anything out of the ordinary, except the logs showed the recording that actually recorded, not the one I scheduled?

I double-checked my sources to make sure no digital stations were selected in the analog sources, and no analog stations were enabled in the digital sources.

I scheduled a few more QAM recordings this afternoon, so I'll let you know if the problem repeats.

In the meantime, do you have any ideas what the cause might be if it occurs again?

Thanks,

Anthony

Quick update. One of the digital shows I scheduled just started recording. The "status" display shows the right show name, but it's listed under my first analog tuner instead of the digital tuner. Wild guess, but I'm assuming it will record the wrong show as it did last night.

Which logs should I send you?

Thanks,

When you schedule a recording, it works its way down the capture source list looking for an available capture source, that has the requested channel enabled. My guess is that you have an analog capture source higher on the list than your HVR1600 which has this channel enabled. (check your capture source channel lists for which have this channel enabled)

Sub,

Hmm.. The digital stations "were" enabled on the analog tuner. Odd, I KNOW I disabled them when I first set up the digital tuners.

In any case, I checked the settings, exited, and opened config again to make sure the settings were saved. So far, so good...

I'll schedule a few more tests and get back to you if I still have problems.

Thanks for all your help!

If you'd previously deleted them rather than disabling them, then they would have got recreated at the next EPG update.

Anyway, glad to hear it seems to be working for you.

Sub,

Well, it was "almost" successful... Smile

I scheduled three digital QAM shows last night.

The first recorded fine.

The second froze during recording. This morning the tray icon still showed it was recording, and the status display still showed the show that it froze with.

The third show never recorded (I assume because the recording service froze).

I've attached my logs.
