sorry agerdin, you are right, I was mistaken. I meant of course this one:

Code:
<SubtitleDelayMVP>1500</SubtitleDelayMVP>
  <MVPShowExit>false</MVPShowExit>

But I haven't tried it for a long time, so I have no idea if it still works.

Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

I've updated ZProcess 2. It saves settings correctly...

zehd, after some additional testing I have now made the switch to mencoder. The quality has improved and the subtitles are working. And the transcoding goes alot faster (dont know what the problem was before).

However, I now have problems that the transcoded picture is too "thin" ie. the black horizontal bars are huge (the file I am testing with is 608x256). The actual picture is less than 1/3 of the TV screen. I have set all "position" settings to max but its just not enough. I would like the picture to stretch to full screen, similar to what I can do with the aspect key (F7) in pvrx2.

Any suggestions to what I can do?

Thanks,

It sounds like you've done some house cleaning, which is normally a good thing.

Well first off, I like to have the MediaMVP in 16x9 mode regardless of what the format of my TV is. (Use the Hauppage software for that)

But ZProcess needs to be told the preferred aspect ratio. It sounds like ZProcess is trying to pillarbox your content.

Does it happen on all files?

Edit: I think you are using PAL, is that right. Well I've been wanting PAL testers for exactly this issue. It's possible that I have to work on the aspect ratios for PAL a bit more. I would like to have a sample file of the video you're trying to use...

I have actually just changed to mvpmc and set the aspect to 16x9. I am running the mvp on a 16:9 32" LCD. I hope thats the setting you are referring to.

Maybe, after some additional testing I have noted that files with aspect 2:35:1 is causing the problem. 16:9 and 4:3 works better.

zehd Wrote:Does it happen on all files?

No, files with aspect 2:35:1.

Yes, PAL it is. Attatching a small test file.

I'm going to need a larger test file. And it should be a source file (AVI) not an MPG

I will PM you my email address that you can send a larger file...

Thanks for the file. Yes I have some work to do to make the calculations work.

I'll need some time. Keep checking back

Here's a patch. I'm pretty sure that it should look better now..

I definitely saw a problem or two. Your video, as well as others, turned into horizontal slivers.

When ZProcess is in 16x9 or Auto - Aspect Ratio. No positioning works. The message says so. Settings will be ignored. It's still that way.

I've hard coded the output rectangle size for wide screens , because they should have less to no problem the same way as old CRT 4x3 TVs.

A 2.35:1 wide screen movie, does seem that it has very large horizontal black bars, but I've tested with several videos that have circles in the first minutes, and things look pretty good to me.

That said, I may still have to tweak. Let me know how it turns out.
