Hello all.

I'm using an AVerMedia M780, but am unable to move between NTSC and ATSC channels (I also attempted QAM, with the same results).

When I start PVRX2 I can view an analog or digital signal. I can move among channels of the same type (digital or analog), and I can move from an analog channel to a digital channel with no trouble.

But when I try to move from a digital channel to an analog channel, the screen goes black. I can sometimes go back to a digital channel, but not allows. The audio tends to go out for all of PVRX2 (viewing a XVID file produced no audio) at this point too.

If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it! This is my last step before calling my little adventure here a success. Smile

Try enabling live preview mode to see if it performs any differently.

Turning on the live preview fixed the issue of not being able to switch from digital to analog, but I run into another issue with it on.

Shortly after changing the channel (any channel, digital or analog) the audio begins to skip until it finally goes out. The video then begins to skip badly. Hitting pause and play fixes this, but it is pretty annoying having to do that each time I change the channel.

Is there anything I can do to help fix this stutter?

I dont know. Try different video/audio decoder combinations.

Well, the original problem is back again. Sad It seemed to help, but digital->analog just killed my picture again. I was watching an ATSC channel and the audio was getting more and more out of sync. When I finally decided to change the channel, I got blackness.

Would the decoding be the source, or might it be the card itself? Is there a way I could test this that you could suggest?

I’m having a similar problem with my setup. I have a Hauppauge HVR1600 and HVR1800 card in the computer running 1.0.16 on Vista. When I first installed the 1600, the 1800 was tuning the analog channels and the 1600 was tuning the QAM channels. It worked except that when I switched between the digital and analog, PVR (both PVR and PVRX2) would lock up after about 2 or 3 changes between analog and digital. Lock up means GBPVR would be totally unresponsive. Had to go to task manager to kill it. I only waited for around 30 seconds at most so I’m not sure what it would do in the long run.

Thinking that maybe the problem was that GBPVR didn’t like switching between the cards, I rearranged the order in config and moved the analog input to the 1600. It worked better but still locked up after about 10 changes between analog and digital.

That’s as far as I got in my testing. Had to go on a trip so I'm away from my system for a while. Not sure if this will help but figured I'd pass it on.

I dont have any problems switching between devices, so I suspect its more device specific.
