Using 2 tuners with GB-PVR and HDHomeRun

I posted this on the HDHomeRUN forum:

I have been able to configure the 2 tuners with GB-PVR.

I can't find how to use the second tuner when shceduling a manual recording. There is no entry to specify what tuner to chose, and if I try to schedule 2 recordings at the same time, GB-PVR reports a conflict.

Am I missing something obvious?

You have both capture sources set up to use Tuner 1 of your HDHomeRun (the device string):

When setting up your capture source, do have a device entry for "Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101073B5-0"? If so, select that for HDHomeRun-0. If not, did you put 2 entries in your bda.ini?

You can change the part between the brackets to anything you want, Like [HDHomeRun 101073B5-0] and [HDHomeRun 101073B5-1]

When I selected the second tuners in the "BDA Device Configuration (both tuner were visible when cheking "Only show devices detected", I tried first to set up "Device Number" to "2" for the second tuner.

But with this setting, the config crashes when validating this dialog pane, so I had to set the Device Number to 1 to make it work.

Yes, I have these 2 entries set up correctly.

After reading your post, I went back to the config and changed the Device Number for the second tuner.

This time, it did not crash, and now I can schedule 2 recordings during the same time period, GB-PVR does not longer complains about a conflict.

But only the first tuner starts. The second one remains asleep, and even though the PVR GUI shows that both recordings are running, the second recording is not.

Should I delete the second source and try again with Device Number set to 2 initially? Maybe it won't crash this time.

I reset the device number for tuner 2 to "1", but that did not help: the GUI accepts 2 simultaneous recordings, but tuner 2 does not start.

I removed completely the second source, created it again with the device number set to 1, and as before, I can't schedule anymore 2 simultaneous recordings.

So, with both numbers set to 1, no simultaneous recordings, and with the second set to 2, the second tuner does not start.

They definitely need to be set to 1. As longs one of your capture sources is set to [Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101073B5-0] and the other to [Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 101073B5-1], then it shouldnt result in a conflict. Make sure you've not set both capture sources to the same device.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I can now make 2 simultaneous recordings.
