The HD stream of The CW contains normally 2 audio PIDS: 0x801 and 0x802.

With a MyHD card for example, the recordings contain these 2 PIDs.

With the HDHomeRun, used with the BDA Multiplexer TS MUX option, the PMT of the TS file describes these 2 audio PIDs, but there is no 0x801 audio packets in the file, they get lost in the process.

I use HDTVtoMPEG2 to trim these TS files, and since it keeps by default only the first audio track, I can end up with files with no audio at all if I forget to manually select the second audio PID.

Can the TS muxer be configured to keep all the audio PIDS?

Its kind of hard to debug this kind of thing. Does the HDHomeRun log any info about the PIDs it is passing through? The HDHomeRun only passes on a subset of the PIDs from the original transport stream, unlike the MyHD which would pass the entire transport stream to the app using including all PIDs.

I found a workaround: when I map the channels, I get in fact 2 mappings for The CW.

The one I chose first was the one that indicates (AC3), and which seemed logical.

If I use the other mapping, it's the first audio PID this time that gets recorded. It's also AC3 (as far as I can tell, both PIDs have the same content), and that removes the potential problem with HDTVtoMPEG2.

Thanks.
