If you've got the appropriate directshow filters installed, then you should already be able to play them. If it plays in WMP, then it should also play in GB-PVR.

It certainly does play in WMP but GB-PVR doesn't even see the .flac extension. Maybe I have done something silly. I'll check when I get home tonight.

In the current v1.0.16 there is a setting in config.xml that lists the file extensions it'll show. You can add flac to that.
I cant remember the exact setting name, but you'll find it easily enough.

yep, found it and changed fla to flac (both are valid but all mine have the extension flac) and presto all is good.
Cheers

tkr001, do you find you're satisfied with FLAC over WMP? I found it only slightly better than a good MP3 or Ogg-Vorbis until I went bit-perfect. Bit-perfect made a big difference.
The only way I could find to go bit-perfect was to use Foobar2000 with the kernel streaming plugin (find SURROUNDTEST_011212.wav to test it - you'll only hear noise if it isn't bit-perfect). I use HIP to control it and GBPVR. Apparently there's a way to do bit-perfect in WinAmp, too, but I could never get it to work.

I've converted to FLAC and I'm really pleased but I can't read understand Swedish, so I'm not sure if the test you talk about truly test bit-perfect versus a test of DTS and 5.1 DD. I found the files here http://www.sr.se/cgi-bin/mall/index.asp?programid=2445 Since I don't have a DTS receiver my stereo only plays silence with SURROUNDTEST_011212.wav (via the MediaMVP) but it does play SURROUNDTEST_DD_640.wav fine, so it would be nice if this was bit-perfect.
