My wife had asked me to check if Biggest Loser and Big Brother were going to conflict on this coming Tuesday. I checked the guide, noticed it was empty, so thought my subscription to Zap2it had expired. A quick Google search revealed the truth.....

I installed v.56, ran it, one problem, already mentioned. Quite a few channels are out of order. Not random though. I'll just type it out...
6\2\4\10\11\12\13\14\5\15\16\17-29\31\32\34-39\41-49\51-53\56-59\61\63\65-67\69-71\73-78
79 - 94 don't exist, that's normal
95\96
97-98 don't exist, that's normal
99\3\30\33\40\50\54\55\60\62\64\68\72\7\8\9

Kinda odd that it starts with 6

I went into the GBPVR setup and emptied the EPG, then removed all the channels. Then reloaded the EPG and got the above channel order.
I just tried it again, emptied the EPG, removed all the channels, but this time I OK'ed out (twice), then went back in the reloaded the EPG. The channels are in the correct order in the config, but now they're in a different order than what I typed above. Closer, but still not quite correct.

Ideas?

EDIT: Figured it out. It's not a scraper fault. It's what happens when I changed EPG sources. The channels tab now has a couple duplicate entries, that I cannot remove. So I gave them an insanely high channel number, and unchecked Favourite. Works now. Except I now have to rename all my channel icons.

i used this for an hour or so and it works fine but the program guide does not have the OTA subchannels. Sad

so i removed it and settled for zap2xml from http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=28897 which works perfectly, subchannels and all. Big Grin

"ExpressVu West" Satellite does not show up at all unless Canadian is checked. (V2V2V2 zipcode)

I can't get Msn XML-tv to be inserted into the epg correctly. I read over the xml file and it looks like it's scrapping the right information, but instead of getting a few channels ranging from 100-9400 I get one right after the other and the epg is empty. Thoughts???

I tried the MSN XML-TV v56 program this morning and whenever I try to download the listing I get "Channel #2 may have been removed by your provider, aborting". If I removed that channel the next one says the same thing, so on and so on. Has the anyone else experience this? It was working fine last week.

UPDATE: I just installed v59 and it seems to be downloading now. We will see what happens! Fingers crossed!

Move up to the latest version of the scrapper. I was getting the same problem and version 59 seems to have solved the problem. Older versions are requesting to much data from MSN and its not sending the data. The new version for me now limits me to 7 days of data.

Unfortunately, that was on v. 59. Either way... you can disreguard that post now. I sat down and spent 3-4 hours setting up zap2xml. It has better support for OTA channels anyway. I have midterms coming up, and being an MS1 and all, I was trying to avoid spending the time to fix the problem. Either way, I got it taken care of. BTW, if any of you use zap2xml is there any reason why zap2it-tvlistings won't record the correct channel sometimes. I have dish and they have duplicate channels which works out great, b/c then I could have used a single account. What I mean by that is channels 1-100 were duplicated in the 8400 range. Anyway... when I added them to my favorites in zap2it they changed the channel number to the <100 range despite it being in the correct order as selected in my favorites list. Sorry, I digress, but I gave up using msn-xmltv scrapper, b/c of so many failed attempts to import it into gb-pvr. The problem was that the xml file was correct, but Gb-pvr wouldn't recognize it's channels and other properties.

Given so many thousands of users have been using GB-PVR xmltv support for years, and this code hasnt been changed in all that time, I'm more inclined to think your problems were in the xml file rather than GB-PVR.

Either way, I got it figured out with zap2xml. Thanks so much for your help, Sub.

Wizard, Did you ever got this resolved as I'm having the same problem now. I've already made sure the config GUI is pointing to the correct XMLout file, but each time I update the EPG manually it looks like its about to, but nothing happens. Thus my Guide remains "no show details". Anyone can shed some light on this? thanks.
Greek Wizard Wrote:I have tried this and although it looks very promising, and I have read all the details instructions, I keep getting a blank EPG.

The channels are there, but no program listings.

The downloaded xml file has the programs.

I have tried 12 days (30 MBs) to 5 days (10MBs) with the same results.

Any thoughts on what I should try next?

I really hate doing a full reinstall of GBPVR but I will try that next I guess. I am using 99.12, but prefer older version, but lost the files.

My computer is pretty powerful, so i should be at the newest level and I guess this will give me the excuse, but I always hate starting from scratch because of the multiple PVR's I have.

Also, i should add, that the log says /s is not a valid switch when i use it in the updateepg.bat (but it does update it)
