Thanks sub. Perhaps GB-PVR can continue to work for me. I've read that you've recommended the 1600 over other alternatives in the past. It that still your recommendation for my purposes?

I think the HVR1600 is a great device for those wanting receive analog, OTA digital or QAM digital, and would be fine for your purposes.

After reading your response again, I want to make sure I understand. Let's say I mapped 8-1 as 801, 8-2 as 802 and 8-3 as 803.

The channels would appear in the guide as 801, 802, 803. If I scheduled a recording on 802, it would actually tune in channel 8-2 and record that, correct?

Sub, sorry about this, but I have one final question before picking up a 1600.

Can GB-PVR deal with 4-digit channel maps? For instance, my mapping convention would be as follows:
6-1 = 601
6-2 = 602
6-3 = 603
8-1 = 801
8-2 = 802
8-3 = 803
13-1 = 1301
13-2 = 1302
59-1 = 5901
59-2 = 5902

Mapping it this way would eliminate channel conflicts with normal directv channels.

There is a minor problem with entering 4 digital channel numbers in the current release, but I have fixed this for the next release, and can provide you a patch if you need it.
