Won't stay in standby

I just recently upgraded to 1.0.1.6. I think I was using 0.98 something. Anyways, after updating, I am unable to stay in standby mode. It will go into standby and come back out after about 2 seconds. The only other thing I did while upgrading was to update my ATI drivers. I don't think the video card would take me out of standby. Anyone with suggestions, please let me know and I'll give it a shot.
