I'm having a problem using a .exe channel changer. Its the redeye changer for NTL set-top box.

http://www.redremote.co.uk/serial/index.html

Using redeye2.exe the channels can be changed fine, but a new window opens and there is text output of 'wrote 1 bytes' to indicate the data was sent to the serial port.

Have tried adding >nul to the parameters, and while this works on the command line, no luck from within GB-PVR

Hi jchasey,

I was wondering if you would give me some advice on the setup of the RED-EYE Remote. I have just ordered one, and am hoping the use it with my Sky Sat receiver.I know you are using it with an NTL setup, but is the configuration easy ,or do you need to know about programming remotes etc.

Best Regards
Joe

No its dead easy...

Plug in the cable to the serial port and stick on the front of your NTL/sky box where the IR receiver is.

Download the exe from the downloads page on redremote.co.uk (its the bottom download) unzip and copy the exe to the Program Files/devnz directory.

Then in the PVRGB config util, select the .exe option for a channel changer, browse to the devnz directory and select redeye2.exe

For the options you can just leave as {channel} if you are using com port 1, otherwise need to add port=com2 if port 2 etc

Hi jchasey,

Thanks for the info I was reading up on the device on the web site. I have another question ,will I need to program the device to work in Sky mode.If so do I need to setup a specific command with the redeye2.exe.

Best Regards
Joe

not sure on this point I'm afraid as the device was setup for NTL so I just plugged in and all was go.
I think you can use redeye2.exe to just send a command line edit to change the mode though, which is in the instructions that come with the device.
