I hava a TerraTec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C card which is picked up by GBPVR using the BDA driver. However when I try to map the channels I get the following error:

"GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly, and not already in use. (Reason: Failed to locate configured BDA capture device)".

When I select ok, a new new error appears. The stacktrace is below:

"************** Exception Text **************
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at NativeUtilities.BDARecorder.SubmitTuningRequest(String tuningRequest, Boolean force)
at NativeUtilities.BDARecorder.StartScanTransponder(String transponder, Int32& signalStrength, Int32& signalQuality)
at Config.Plugins.x501d1ffea8b79320.x692a1118e1794d77(Object xdf2e3583f942db7b, EventArgs xc4f45905cb1fc7ba)
at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.OnTick(EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Timer.TimerNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
"

This card works fine with DVBProg and MyTheatre.
Operating system is XP Pro service pack 2.
Logs attached.
Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Above will be the cause of your problem, but I have no idea what you'd have to do to fix it. I've never seen anyone else get this error. Its basically saying it cant load a normally available Windows component.

Thanks Sub.

I tried to reinstall various windows components again, such as directx9 and .Net framework to no avail.
I then finally bit the bullet and reinstalled XP... and it works fine now...

ok, glad you got it working. Sorry I couldnt give you a shortcut to fixing that one.

It still surprises me that after all this time people can still show me new errors I've never seen before.

I found out what was causing the issue as it happened again. It appears to be caused by Hauppauge wintv install software. Once uninstalled, GBPVR works again.....
... wish I'd known this before I wiped the machine......
painful but at least I now know
