Hey chad, thanks for the input. Can you also report on the other features of the card? OTA, QAM, and analog?

Thanks a ton for your info.

- OTA works great and i think it is worth it alone for 50 bucks
- QAM still working on it
- Analog Cable looks like crap, if you are getting it just for this don't it is the ugliest picture i have ever seen

Thanks chad, you're the man.

Really appreciate the info. I'm looking forward to getting the OTA and QAM channels. The analog is not why i'm buying this card, but I would like to record certain (older) series on it. So i'll have to play with it. But I am very excited about the OTA and QAM.

Thanks again, please keep posting any news or updates on the card and software.

chadyzgroove:

When you say analog cable looks like crap, is it just because compared to HD the signal is grainy, or is it significantly worse than if you just plugged the analog cable directly into your television (and used the TV's analog tuner)?

That's probably because your cable company is encrypting all the channels.
interestingly if your cable company carries the local broadcast channels those are not supposed to be encrypted due to a FCC regulation, but if you call them and complain they will most likely tell you that the signal they get is encrypted which is BS.

Pinnacle has a beta driver that will allow QAM support with this card. It can be found at http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us...=documents

I got this card working OK in gbpvr using the AddCaptureCard from the wiki.

pausing/recording causes the system to lock.

Some channels do not display correctly, lots of dropped frames. Some channels honestly feel like they are in fast forward. I dunno why.

not using QAM, everything is coming off of the antenna.

overall it's buggy, but I will keep trudging on and experimenting.

Sub, I'm attempting to get GBPVR to work with my tuner card. I edited bda.ini like you said, and its picking up my card. Im unsure how to tune the channels, though. It doesn't seem to be finding any. And I do know that I get QAM channels here. Thanks.
