Hi all,

I was wondering if the Sweetspot card would work with gb-pvr, as the sweetspot card has something that I've found so hard to find - RGB input!

According to the manufacturer website at http://www.pluggedin.tv/sweetspot it has the following chipset:

Philips SAA7118 9-bit analog-to-digital converter.
Conexant Fusion BT878A video decoder

Acc. to the website, it also works with the following software if that helps:
VirtualDub 1.5.10
WinVDRPro 3.3.0
ShowShifter 3.01
VirtualVCR 2.6.9
AVI-IO
Videolan VLC media player 0.7.0

Many thanks,

Danny

based on the list of software you mentioned this card does not have hardware encoding so this will probably not be supported,

Cheers,
Colin.

Mind you, another one of the cool features is that the Sweetspot has the Parallel Digital Interface so you can plug a RealMagic XCard into it, which in turns provides DVD hardware encoding.

Why isn't there a card out there that is a TV Tuner card, but with RGB input?!! Grr.

Cheers,

Danny

I too would like to use my sweetspot card with GBPVR.

I don't fully understand how this stuff works but thought that when the WDM drivers are installed and working it is quite a simple card to support. I use the RGB input for $ky with a USBUIRT for channel changing, and the PDI input receives a modded DVD player.

I have had the trial versions of Showshifter and Snapstream working but neither make me want to part with £40+ to buy. GBPVR looks ideal...

Many thanks,
Matt.

If some wants to donate me a sweetspot card I can look into it. Otherwise, I dont have any plans to add support.

It might be worth approaching David at pluggedin.tv to see if they would loan you one.

David seems like a really helpful guy on AVForums and has helped me directly with dumb questions. It would help their sales to have another card supported - everyone's a winner [Image: smile.gif]

Here's hoping,
Matt.

As was mentioned when Sub got his Walker donated, a loan is kind of a waste of time, as the item could almost be paid for by the time two-way shipping is paid for. On top of that, once Sub were to give the card back, he would not be able to test and update his software to be compatable with future releases of the Sweetspot driver. Those new to the Sweetspot need to be aware that even though the card accepts component inputs, it will still only capture the same resolutions that a standard card will. That being said, have you Sweetspot guys seen the thread in this forum that claims to add after-the-fact support for non-MPEG cards in GB-PVR?

The link http://gbpvr.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?a...756;hl=wdm
does not seem to work.

However when searching the site for SweetSpot there seems to be a solution using the thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...=sweetspot

The thread though is soo huge that it is hard to extract the useful information.
I to would like to get my SweetSpot to work with GBPVR. Is there anyone who can supply the final information on how to get the Sweetspot working with the WDM SW Recording plugin?

Most grateful /ripan
