This is about the same as me going to buy a mini-van just to haul groceries and the kids around and being told that I have to buy a Ferrari instead, just because everyone else buys them.

Actually, it's more like going to buy a piano that only has one octave and being told that they don't make them due to lack of demand, so you need to purchase a full piano. There are probably only a handful of people that would configure a system the way you are doing. I doubt enough to make such a device profitable. And yes, I do understand your reasoning for your setup, I just don't think there is enough of a market there.

Ok, last try. See, I know what I want and I know what I do not want.
I do not want to put a TV tuner or satellite card in the PC.
There is only ONE SLOT in the pc and there is only 2.25" of clearance. The max height the card can be is 2.25"

So, to make it easier, I'll break down into a form that even a guy can understand.

Rudely taunting the people you're asking help from... that such a rare quality these days. I used to work with a gal like you, and she was quite a bit of fun. Most of the guys hated her because she was just so darn mean and antagonistic. I kind of liked it though. She just hated asking me for help but sometimes she just couldn't avoid it. I knew she was desperate when she came or had been told to come to me, and she seemed to hate it when I had an answer for her. And then they made me her boss because I was good at working with difficult people... poetry huh?

Well I caved in and purchased one of those pvr-150LP cards.
It's way more than I want or need.
It really makes me mad that to do one simple little thing I have to go into massive overspending for a massive overkill option that I do not want and do not need.

So in a few days it will be here and I'll install it and I'll disable 98% of it's features. I'll have paid 80% more than I should have for something that I'll only use 2% of it's capabilites.

well, sorry, i guess you've got to pay for the extra keys & the worthless animals to, they don't make one tone painos, it's a no-market. besides, the kids love the animals. but you can still choose to buy it & only play one tone, even forget it has the other 7. you don't even have to look at the animals

lol. 1/100th of second i really though: "damn, how could i post a wrong advice? i've made an error, oh god, worlds gonna end because i've mistaken a note as an octave or vice versa". that though only lastest very short

That is what I suggested in post #2, only I didn't provide a link. It is implied that once she gets that she get a learning remote that can have the switch commands programmed into. See how easy guys make it.

yeah i would go with that aswell (video switch)
the quality Morticia is going to get now that it has gone through all the encoding etc is going to be hit and miss
or just use the composite because the qualty she is going to get now isnt going to be much better
i doubt Morticia is listening anymore anyway
