Does anyone in the San Francisco area know where my sister in law could get an unlocked iphone 4 or samsung galaxy s2 for the same low price as they were in the New York $399 ???

You'd only be able to get a second hand one at those prices, regardless of where in the states you were. Unlocked iPhone 4's are available in the states now from Apple, but they're significantly more expensive than that ($649 and $749 depending on GB).

thats what i thought but my sister in law was just in NY last week and she said they were $399 for a new unlocked iphone - i was shocked - she didnt tell me they were there at that price till she was in san fran yesterday but cant find any for that price - im so gutted - i was like yep sign me up !!! urrggghhhh

thats also a possibility i was so looking forward to getting any iphone 4 for half the price they are on sale here for. now i guess i just have to wait for the iphone 5 to come out
